Strategic planning is a cycle. Most organisations tend to renew their strategy every three to five years, but you may find it useful to repeat or review some of the steps in the interim, as things change. You will also be monitoring and evaluating your current strategy as you go along. So it can be useful to see strategic planning as a permanent fixture in an organisation's activities.
