Our events
We run a series of NCVO Third Sector Foresight seminars and two annual conferences so network members can meet, share knowledge and experiences. To find out about events as soon as we plan them, simply join for free. Most of our events are oversubscribed so don't miss out!
Leading Lights Seminars
"Excellent opportunity to step outside the day-to-day and have a very stimulating discussion.
Jon Spiers, Cancer Campaign Manager, Cancer Research UK (attendee of Leading Lights seminar)
We run our Leading Lights series of free NCVO Third Sector Foresight seminars, at our London offices near Kings Cross. Open only to network members, they are a great chance to meet other members, share knowledge and experiences as well as discuss key topics in depth.
We invite key note speakers who share their thoughts, to stimulate debate and then the emphasis is on participation by the delegates, so you get a chance to step back from daily pressures in order to think in depth about how complex external trends (drivers) may impact on your organisation in the future.
Last seminar in the series
28th October 2010
Campaigning Futures: What will campaigning be like in 5 years' time?
Conferences
We have a strong track record of running popular, effective conferences.
Foresight conference
Each year we have an annual Foresight conference. Our rollcall of expert speakers at this have included Andrew Hind, Chief Executive, Charity Commission and Geoff Mulgan, Chair of the Carnegie UK Trust Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society in the UK and Ireland and previous Director of Policy at 10 Downing St under Tony Blair, Will Hutton, Chief executive of The Work Foundation. The event is an inspiring, hands-on day combining future trend identfication for the voluntary and community sector with innovative event formats.
"A thought provoking and stimulating day"
Strategy conference
In 2008 we ran a strategy conference, in collaboration with the NCVO Strategy & Impact team: 'Alive and Kicking: creating successful strategies'.
Plenty of new food for thought and picking brains of people in the sector.
This was the first year we ran this conference and it was a successful day, with delegates enthusiastically engaging throughout. Find out more about our 2008 strategy conference. Keep your eyes peeled for the 2009 one!
